NavPath Aviation provides professional flight test services for Canadian pilots and flight instructors, with an emphasis on fairness, professionalism and clear communication. All flight tests are conducted in accordance with the policy and procedures contained in the Transport Canada Pilot Examiner Manual.

Flight Tests

NavPath currently provides flight testing primarily in single-engine aeroplanes from the Courtenay area.

Flight testing may include applicable:

• Pilot licence tests
• Flight instructor rating tests
• Flight instructor rating renewal tests
• Flight instructor rating upgrade tests
• Other General Aviation flight tests within the examiner’s authorization

Your Flight Test

The Transport Canada Flight Test Guide applicable to your test establishes the required standards, procedures and assessment criteria.

Your examiner will assess your ability to safely and consistently operate the aircraft in accordance with the applicable flight test requirements and its design and certification parameters

The objective is not to surprise you. The objective is to conduct a fair and professional assessment of your knowledge, skills and ability.

Before Your Flight Test

You should work with your flight instructor or training organization to ensure that you are fully prepared.

Before scheduling your flight test, confirm that you meet the applicable prerequisites.

You should also ensure that:

• Your required documentation is complete
• Your licence and medical documentation are current as applicable
• Your aircraft is airworthy and suitable for the test
• Required aircraft documents and equipment are available
• You have reviewed the applicable Transport Canada Flight Test Guide
• Your instructor has confirmed that you are ready

Schedule Your Flight Test Early

Flight tests are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Don’t wait until your training is complete to start thinking about your flight test date.

Once your instructor determines that you are ready, have them contact NavPath to discuss scheduling.

Flight Test Fees

Please contact NavPath for the current fee applicable to your specific flight test. Fees are subject to GST.

You may your flight test fee by Interac e-Transfer to info@navpath.com or by cash.

A fee may apply where a candidate does not attend a scheduled flight test or does not meet the applicable requirements for admission.

Weather & Aircraft Serviceability

Flight tests are conducted subject to suitable weather and aircraft serviceability.

If a flight test cannot proceed because of weather, aircraft unserviceability or another unforeseen circumstance, NavPath will work with the candidate to reschedule the test as soon as practical.
