Flight Instructors should plan ahead to attend a FIRC that begins while their Flight Instructor Rating is still valid. Transport Canada requires that your flight instructor rating be valid on the first day of the course for the instructor to receive a renewal of their rating. Renewal of a Flight Instructor Rating will be based on the date of the last day of the course.

Flight instructors are responsible for ensuring that they will meet all Transport Canada requirements for renewal before registering.

Registration will normally open approximately 60 days prior to the course.

Your participation in a FIRC will improve your instructional techniques and update your operational knowledge while you experience aviation Professional Development at its finest!

The FIRC is excellent for those training to obtain an initial Class 4 Flight Instructor Rating. The fee is greatly reduced by 50% from the regular price of $700 to only $350 plus GST! Your attendance at this course will benefit you as a pilot and will lay the foundation for your future career as an instructor. Be sure to bring your Pilot Training Record and we will make an entry for 16 hours of ground school.
Please register on-line then submit your course fee of $367.50 via e-Transfer to info@navpath.com.

Also, the FIRC is suitable if you are planning to upgrade your Flight Instructor Rating. The fee is greatly reduced by 50% from the regular price of $700 to only $350 plus GST! What a great way to get ready for your written examination and then upgrade flight test with a Transport Canada Inspector.
Please register on-line then submit your course fee of $367.50 via e-Transfer to info@navpath.com.

Preparing for the Course

During the course you will require access to various flight training materials and applicable Transport Canada references, including the following:

  • Flight Instructor Guide
  • Flight Training Manual – Aeroplane
  • Flight Test Guides – Private Pilot Licence and Commercial Pilot Licence
  • Pilot’s Operating Handbook for a typical training aircraft
  • TP 13747 – Stall/Spin Awareness Training
  • Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards
